Elizabeth Newman was born in Oregon and raised in the Washington, DC area. After developing a love for art at an early age, she turned that passion towards photography. At 18, she took a year off to travel and photograph Europe and Brazil. Following her travels, she studied History and Design at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. After 2 years in Glasgow, Elizabeth returned to the United States to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia.
In Elizabeth’s landscape work, she explores how Modern Southern Identity is connected to the Landscape, how people define the landscape, while at the same time are defined by the landscape. In her Nudes, she explores how light and form define our perception of the human form.
